15-year-old Faithe de Souza from the National Youth Team in Shooting, was the award recipient at the Joseph Schooling Sports Grant (JSSG) Award Ceremony 2023, held at the Eurasian Community House on Saturday 13 May.

Faithe is making her mark in shooting, winning the gold medal at the 10m Air Rifle Women Junior Individual event at the Meyton Cup 2023, and is currently ranked top in Singapore’s National Youth Team for 10m Air Rifle Women.

The JSSG is a $5,000 cash award, to defray training or equipment costs in the pursuit of sporting excellence. It is open to athletes between 14-19 years old, who demonstrate that they can balance their academic studies and training responsibilities to achieve their sporting goals. The first two JSSG award recipients in 2019 and 2020 were Tia Rozario from Track & Field, and Sarah Bernard from Swimming respectively.
