The EA has been participating in NHB’s Heritage Festival since 2009, and other programmes such as Battle for Singapore and Children’s Season. View fullsize [Oct] EHG docent, Nancy Fobrogo, spoke to guests from Life BP (Bible-Presbyterian) Church) on 25 October, about the Monastery in the Azulejo tiles fresco, one of EHG's first artifacts, at the EA lobby. She shared the story of how the monks in Portugal used egg whites to starch their robes. Then, with the leftover egg yolks, they created the Portuguese egg tart - using the egg yolks for the custard. Subsidised by National Heritage Board, the event comprised an EHG guided tour, dance workshop, cooking demonstration and Kristang workshop by Valerie Scully. Participants were impressed to hear from Chef Quentin Pereira that Quentin’s fine dining branch in Sentosa uses wagyu beef for their meaty cutlets! They enjoyed a Christmas bento meal, pulled Christmas crackers, and exchanged secret Santa gifts. View fullsize [Dec] The Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) and Eurasian Heritage Gallery’s (EHG) second collaborative tour on 10 December focused on dance. After visiting the IHC and learning the Odissi dance, participants toured the EHG and learnt the Jinkli Nona before relaxing over sugee cake and tea.
