Eurasian Association Art Competition

The Eurasian Association (EA), which was formed in 1919, celebrates its centennial this year with a series of events. The Eurasian Festival 2019 will be held on 27 July and is a key event celebrating the EA’s contributions and achievements to the Eurasian community and Singapore over 100 years.

We are looking for aspiring artists to take part in our Art Contest which is themed “Celebrating the Community”. The objective of the contest is to help raise awareness of the values of Eurasians, a small but significant ethnic group among the larger Singapore community, and underscore our shared multiracial, multicultural roots.

The top 4 winners would have their artwork featured on EA collateral’s during the Eurasian Festival.

Prize: Up to $150 worth of prizes

Requirements: Open to all Eurasians
Categories: (Aged 6 – 12), (Aged 13 – 18), (Open Category)

Submission Due Date: June 14, 2019 

COMPETITION DETAILS

1. Rules
•The competition is only open to all Eurasians.
•The entry should be the sole original work of the participant and there should be no assistance rendered by anyone else.
•Participants must execute the artwork on A3-sized paper (29.7cm x 42.0cm).
•Participants are free to use just one or any variety of wet/dry drawing tools.
•Participants are free to create an original composition based on their selected theme (Celebrating the Community).

2. Submission
•All artworks must be submitted by 14 June 2019. Late submissions will not be accepted.
•Please prepare the following information for the online submission:

– Participant’s personal details (Email address, Name, Age, Date of Birth, Contact Number, Race, Nationality, Contact Number)
– Artwork Submission information (Clear image of artwork, Artwork title, Theme selected, Material used, Write-up)

•Entries with incomplete information will be disqualified.
•All physical artwork to be submitted directly or by post to The Eurasian Association, 139 Ceylon Road Singapore 429744
•Participants are required to do short write up (100 words) to describe the artwork.

3. Judging
•The judging panel comprise members who specialise in the arts faculty and will judge based on the following criteria:
– Imagination
– Technical Skills

The judges’ decision is final.

*All 4 Winners will be announced on the EA website by 1 July 2019 and contacted to attend the Eurasian Festival which take place on 27 July 2019 held at Our Tampines Hub.
